Editorial Standards

1. Who writes and reviews this site

Content is written and technically reviewed by the Austin Stained Concrete Floors editorial team, drawing on documented company experience serving Austin since 2001. We use a team byline rather than inventing a named expert or a fictitious reviewer profile. Where a specific credential, licence, or certification is claimed anywhere on this site, it has been verified; where it has not been verified, it is absent rather than implied.

2. What counts as evidence

We distinguish between four kinds of statement and try to make it obvious which one you are reading:

• Documented company experience. Work we have done, recorded with scope, slab condition, preparation, product, and outcome.
• Manufacturer guidance. Product instructions and technical data, reviewed by an installer before being repeated here.
• General trade practice. Widely held standards for preparation, testing, and application.
• Estimates and ranges. Clearly marked as such, with the factors that move them.

3. Cost information

We do not publish a headline price per square foot. Quotes are built from the actual project: square footage, removal, preparation, repairs, product system, sealer coats, access, and any minimum charge. Where we share company cost data, we date it, describe its scope, and state its exclusions. A handful of jobs is not an Austin market average and we will not describe it as one.

4. Images

Illustrative images on this site are conceptual. They show what a finish type can look like. They are not photographs of completed company projects, they are not proof of a local job, and they are not colour samples. Project photography is published on the projects page only when it is our own work, taken on the job, with the customer's permission and private details protected.

5. Reviews and testimonials

We publish reviews only from real, named customers who have approved the wording. There are no invented testimonials on this site, and no aggregate rating is displayed until there is a genuine, verifiable source for it.

6. Technical accuracy

We hold these distinctions firmly because getting them wrong costs customers money: stain, dye, paint, sealer, and integral colour are different things; polishing is a mechanical process, not a glossy sealer; water-based stain does not guarantee uniform colour; overlays do not promise structural repair; and performance depends on the actual product, substrate, and use rather than on a category name.

7. Claims we avoid

• Exact colour matching to a paint chip, sample photo, or another floor.
• A universal resealing interval that applies to every floor.
• Structural repair through a decorative finish.
• Guaranteed response times or availability we have not confirmed.
• Coverage in an area we have not confirmed we can schedule.

8. Updates and corrections

Guides carry a publish date and, where the content has been meaningfully revised, an updated date. When we find an error, we correct the page rather than quietly deleting it, and we revise the surrounding guidance if the error affected it. If you believe something here is wrong, tell us through the contact form and we will check it.

9. Structured data

Schema markup on this site describes what is visible on the page. We do not mark up ratings, reviews, prices, or credentials that are not published and supportable.
