What we actually do
Austin Stained Concrete Floors has been working on Central Texas slabs since 2001. The core of the business is custom stained concrete for homes and commercial spaces, with polishing, epoxy and metallic epoxy coatings, overlays and microtoppings, patio resurfacing, countertop resurfacing, and restoration alongside it.
Those services overlap in how they look and differ completely in how they work. A polished floor and a glossy sealed floor can look similar in a photograph, but one has been mechanically refined and densified while the other has a film sitting on top that will eventually wear through. A metallic epoxy garage and a stained living room are not two versions of the same product. Getting those distinctions right in the quoting stage is the difference between a floor you are happy with in five years and one you are arguing about in eighteen months.
How we work with clients
Every project starts with the slab, not with the product. We look at porosity, patches, adhesive residue, cracks, and existing coatings, and we test areas when colour is in question. Only then do we talk about finishes. That order matters, because staining highlights slab character rather than covering it, and no amount of enthusiasm about a colour changes what a particular slab will accept.
When we quote, you get the preparation, the product, the number of sealer coats, the exclusions, and any minimum charge in writing. That is not generosity, it is the only way you can compare our quote against anyone else's without guessing at what has been left out.
What we will not claim
This website is careful about evidence. We do not publish invented reviews, invented project counts, or invented credentials. Where a page carries an illustrative image, it is labelled as illustrative, because a generated picture of a nice floor is not proof that we installed one. Where our contact details, hours, or warranty terms are still being confirmed, we say so rather than filling the gap with something plausible.

The sample library
Colour conversations go badly when they are based on photographs taken in someone else's house on someone else's slab. We keep real samples, recorded against the slab type, the preparation, the colour, and the sealer used, so you can see how a product behaves rather than how it was styled.
Samples set expectations. They are not exact-match guarantees, and we will say so every time, because reactive staining varies by design and the concrete under your feet has its own chemistry.
Who does the work
Decorative concrete is a finishing trade. Preparation is most of it: residue removal, profiling, moisture assessment, and repairs that have to be right before any colour goes down. The visible part, the colour and the sealer, is the last few hours of a job that was decided days earlier.
